Extremely Bright Aurora Borealis MAY 2024

These are my photos of the Aurora Borealis from 10-11.5.2024. I expected the aurora borealis, but definitely not this bright. It was actually the brightest aurora since 2003! It came in two waves. Aurora was incredibly dynamic and the greenish belt stretched all the way over the whole sky! Absolutely stunning experience! For more images visit Gallery.

New Images of Saturn, Milky Way and Perseids

In August, I set out to the region of the dark sky where an astronomical event was taking place, and there I met several other astrophotographers. I captured photographs of the Milky Way there, which was literally shining, and I also managed to capture a few Perseids.

Northern Lights from Czechia

This Aurora Borealis was unusually bright for Czech standards. I could see a faint greenish cloud with my naked eye. I was absolutely amazed! If you get a chance to see it, definitely go! More images here.

New Venus and Jupiter close conjunction images

I took a widefield shot of the planetary kiss - close conjunction of Jupiter and Venus (upper) over a town in Czechia called Beroun. They won’t be closer to each other until 2032.

Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF)

I had a chance to photograph and observe probably the brightest comet of 2023, comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF). I was able to see the comet through a small pair of binoculars, amazing experience, it looked as a faint patch of light. The most challenging part of the process of taking this picture was the processing and editing part. After trying many editing techniques I’m finally happy with the result. More comet images are in my gallery.
